This session will share strategies and resources to better equip students and faculty with the ability to distinguish periodontal and non-periodontal health and gingivitis cases and how to manage patients according to the latest guidelines.

Objectives:

• Identify and apply the latest American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) classification system to accurately distinguish between periodontal and non-periodontal health and gingivitis cases.
• Analyze clinical cases using evidence-based strategies to determine appropriate periodontal classifications and develop effective treatment plans for health and gingivitis.
• Demonstrate understanding of the key differences between health and gingivitis in both periodontal and non-periodontal contexts through case-based discussions.
