We will discuss supplies, equipment and materials needed to incorporate teledentistry into your current clinic setting or at external rotation sites. Telehealth laws and scope of practice in your state will be reviewed as well as the technology needed to give students this experience.

Objectives:

• Identify opportunities for teledentistry for dental hygienists in your state based on current statutes and dental hygiene scope of practice.
• Create a checklist of technology and equipment needed for teledentistry in clinic or on external rotation.
• Establish a workflow between clinical faculty/students and dentists, synchronous, and asynchronous.
• Review current practice management software/patient engagement software for secure telehealth conferencing. Discuss options outside of current PMS
