Educators Platform is proud to present ONBOARD, a hybrid program designed for clinical faculty in dental hygiene programs and for clinicians preparing to step into education. Many clinical educators enter teaching as skilled clinicians, but without formal preparation in how to teach. That gap shows up in clinic every day, from inconsistent grading to feedback that varies from one instructor to the next. Across many programs, faculty face the same challenges: calibration and rubric alignment, uncertainty in handling difficult student and patient situations, and connecting daily clinical decisions to program expectations and CODA standards. These challenges create stress for faculty and students alike, and they point to the need for a shared foundation in clinical teaching. ONBOARD 2026 is designed to give clinical educators that foundation. Two evenings of live virtual sessions focus on the shift from clinician to educator, delivering and receiving feedback effectively, and navigating the realities of clinic, including professional boundaries and challenging situations. On-demand modules refresh foundational clinical knowledge in periodontal classifications, local anesthesia, infection control, hand and power instrumentation, and preventive care, and connect CODA standards to daily clinical teaching. ONBOARD is more than a course; it’s an opportunity to build confidence, connect with fellow educators, and contribute to a more consistent, supportive clinical culture for our students.
